Critérium du Dauphiné

  • 10th June 2017
  • Alpe d'Huez

The Critérium du Dauphiné is an important annual race in the lead-up to the Tour de France and it is part of the UCI World Ranking calendar. The race was inaugurated in 1947 by a local newspaper, the Dauphiné Libéré, which gave its name to the event. The route runs through mountainous areas so it comes as no surprise that the winners are often climbing specialists.

It involves many world famous cols in our area used by the Tour de France such as Alpe d’Huez and the Col du Galibier
