Sarenne Snow Bike

For the eigth consecutive year, Alpe d’Huez is organising an untimed MTB downhill run on the mythical snow covered slope of the Sarenne. Start from the glacier at the summit of the Pic Blanc (3330m), and descend to Huez (1460m) some 2000m descent along 16km of skiing track. Thrill and fun guaranteed! Attend a convivial meal upon arrival. The most passionate and toughest riders can end their day skiing on Alpe d’Huez Grand Domaine and its 250km of slopes.

A mythic downhill race!

A 3-day MTB downhill race, open to all; bringing together amateurs and professionals all looking to push their limits in the pure, convivial spirit of freeride.

A real MTB derby starting from the glacier of Les Deux Alpes. Prepare for 2500m of height loss over nearly 25km. Snow, ice, shingle, rocks, camber, a single track on the “double black” and to finish, sliding… down to Venosc. From fear to smiles, hell to paradise, it’s the “MOUNTAIN OF HELL”!

Megavalanche

Oh, yes this is as crazy as it gets! Vaujany is also a great base for the world famous Megavalanche Challenge that takes place every July. This event is the undisputed longest downhill race in the world. During this week Alpe d’Huez and the Grandes Rousses Massif becomes the focus for the entire mountain bike freeride world.

1400 participants from more than 20 countries come together to take part in, compete and survive a week long MTB fiesta of practice, races and events before finally taking on the infamous Pic Blanc descent itself. Hurtling down a vertical drop of more than 2600m in the company of more than a thousand likeminded thrill seekers is a truly unique experience. Just getting to the bottom in one piece and saying: “I did it” lives long in the memory!

Megavalanche

Tour du Plateau d’Emparis

A joint MTB and running event. This is the 18th edition of one of the highest competitions in the Alps, almost continually being at altitudes of over 2000m. It offers you the challenge of “Le Tour du Plateau d’Emparis”. A friendly race in a magical setting, with breathtaking views over the massif of La Meije.

This is a fabulous timed event and is open to everyone. MTB events: 10, 21, 25 & 41km.

Ultra Raid of La Meije

It’s challenging: 110 km of trails and single tracks over one or two days. It has a huge height difference: 5500m up, 5500m down. It is unique: an event 100% in the wild, uniquely on trails and single tracks. It is testing: a highly technical route for serious mountain bikers at high altitude (above 1500 m).

FREE SESSION timed MTB downhill runs on the “Piste des Vaches” which is a blue slope. There are tables, bumps, 2 gangways and sweet banked corners providing a fast and fun ride for all to enjoy. The Mach12 sections are designed for more advanced riders to enjoy.

This operates every Friday throughout the summer at the Alpe d’Huez Grand Domaine VTT in Alpe d’Huez.

MTB French Cup – DH, XC and Relay

An unforgettable weekend for riders and spectators alike! Go and watch how the Pros do it! Three days of amazing thrills and spills just across the hill in Oz en Oisans. Our tracks are now so good the French Championship pays an annual visit to our mountain. This is your chance to compare speed, technique and crashes! The downhill race will be held as in previous years on the famous Poutran run, where the top mountain bikers contested the 2009 French Championships. The MTB downhill and trial events count towards the FFC French Cup.

IXS Downhill European Cup

Les 2 Alpes host a round of the MTB European DH cup. Around 300 riders, French and international, you should come and attend the event!

Race and Co Enduro Tour – MTB Enduro Rhône-Alpes Cup

A semi-nocturnal urban race held on Saturday, followed by several special downhill races on Sunday. Riders can showcase their skills on routes that combine physical and technical prowess.

Crankworx

The third edition of Crankworx-Les 2 Alpes will this year include the Free Raid Classic, making a total of 4 full days devoted to mountain biking. The festival also hosts major Enduro, Downhill, x-country, Slopes style… and all Alpine MTB races. But it’s not all thrills as there will be trade fairs showcasing new brands and equipment.This is a big date in the calendar for all MTB enthusiasts!

Enduro Gravity Race and Co

This is the second leg of the Enduro Rhône-Alpes Cup. Riders compete in 5 special timed races in Vaujany at altitudes of between 2,800m and 1,300m, combining glaciers, meadows and undergrowth…that are enough to put any rider through their paces.

Last minute: the itinerary may change depending on snow levels, but nevertheless the spirit will remain!

L’Aurienchonne

L’Aurienchonne is a 45km non-timed MTB ride open to all. Its aim is for competitors to simply enjoy exploring the mountains on a bike and discover the Alpe d’Huez MTB domain (Auris, Alpe d’Huez, Villard Reculas, Oz and Vaujany)
