The Oisans Area
Truly stunning! There are so many local and quiet cycling roads, with the most amazing views of the valley beneath... breathtaking.

The Cycling Centre Of The World
Cycling in the French Alps and Oisans area is a wonderful experience. Riding out of Vaujany every morning whether to train or compete, is like riding through the annals of cycling history. Saddling up and riding narrow mountain roads to soaring mountain passes, racing down steep hillsides and reaching cool valley floors, the scenery that surrounds the rider is awe-inspiring, the challenges seemingly insurmountable and the satisfaction of completion indescribable.
Participate in the iconic Etape du Tour or the Marmotte Sportive and you are literally following the tracks of the greats!

Top World Cycling Climbs
Every rider, pro or amateur, dreams of going head to head with the 21 hairpins of the amazing Alpe d’Huez climb or completing the incredible Marmotte sportive course. Of more than 24,500 worldwide climbs rated by the popular international network for active cyclists ‘climbbybike’ you can take on no less than 3 of the top 20 from the door of your Vaujany chalet. There are magnificent views, from the the woods and lakes of the Col de la Croix de Fer to the glaciers and peaks of the Ecrins massif.
Location, Location, Location
It is little wonder then, that thanks to its convenient location - we are on the Col du Sabot road, just above the Col du Glandon/Croix de la Fer road and only a quick downhill warm up from the start of the hugely popular cyclosportive Marmotte - and the fantastic facilities for un-winding with the peace that purpose built resorts lack, Vaujany is fast becoming one of the highest rated bases for cycling the Oisans and the area of Grenoble. During the summer an international riders community is establishing itself in the village. Those in ‘the know’ from Holland, Belgium, Italy, other parts of France and of course the UK come to Vaujany and return year after year. The dream of cycling in the Alps lives on and grows stronger.
